Stories Through Time

Bridging generations through storytelling

Our Stories Through Time programme brings older and younger people together to share life stories, culture, and wisdom. With the help of younger volunteers, older participants can record their experiences, create digital memory books, and leave a lasting legacy

This is more than just a chat – it’s a powerful way to honour life journeys and build friendships across generations.

Walk & Talk Buddies

Gentle walks, real conversations

Our Walk & Talk Buddies programme pairs older adults with friendly volunteers for gentle walks in local parks and green spaces. It’s a chance to stretch your legs, enjoy nature, and have a meaningful chat along the way.

Highlights:

  • Regular walks in safe, accessible locations

  • One-on-one or small group pairings

  • Light refreshments after each walk

  • Optional themed walks like “Memory Lane” strolls

Good for the body, great for the soul—and even better when shared with a friend.

Generations in the Kitchen

Cooking, culture, and connection

Generations in the Kitchen is a delicious way to connect across generations. Older adults and young people come together to cook, learn traditional recipes, and share meals from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Highlights:

  • Cooking workshops led by older participants

  • Intergenerational learning and recipe sharing

  • A community meal at the end of each session

  • Co-creation of a multicultural recipe book

Food brings people together—and this programme celebrates the flavours, stories, and friendships that grow in the kitchen.
